Red Forest

The forest near Chernobyl is now known as Red Forest. Right after the melt down of the power plant, the forest was said to be turned red due to the impact of radiation. According to the historian of the Soviet, Kate Brown, the radiation level in the forest remains alarmingly high. This notion of red forest has brought me back to running in the forest, and re-configured my relationship with aesthetics as a sensory experience beyond seeing two dimensional visual images.
